These are some of the things that I have made with our alpaca's yarn. I really like the way it feels in my hands. The good thing about blankets is that they keep me warm while I work on them. I hope someday to be able to make many of the things that are for sale in our gift shop.
I usually have at least one knit and one crochet project going at the same time so as not to get bored.
The last of the yarn that we had processed is in almost 4 oz.skeins and sells for $20.00 a skein. We have several colors ranging from white to black and almost every color in between. We always keep our yarn in the natural color. It comes with a picture of the alpaca it is from. We have the softest to rug yarn.
We are very proud to participate in the Certified South Carolina program for our fleece and yarn.
This is new fleece and yarn from our alpacas. We have black, white and several shades of beige and brown. Our yarn is light weight and 2-ply at $20.00 for a 3.5 ounce skein. Raw fleece is available until shipped to the fiber mill at at $2.00 an ounce. We also have roving in light and dark colors for $4.00 an ounce.
We have new blankets and throws in several colors. These are wonderfully warm and very pretty. They are $80.00-$100.00.
These are the new summer sweaters. We have several colors and styles. They are light weight and very soft. They start at $50.00-$85.00.
These are scarves and pounchos. This scarf has been our best seller and comes in many colors at $20.00 a very good deal. Pounchos are $70.00 and very nice.
These are some teddy bears and toys. They are really gifts and come in several colors. Starting at $3.00 for finger puppets to $80.00 for a large bear. We have found that less expensive things sell better and so are trying to stock more of them and less of the larger ticket items.
We also have socks for gentlemen and ladies. Hats and gloves for both adults and children are also available. We have beautiful articles for infants.
These are some of the things that I have made from our alpaca yarn. As time permits I will continue to make more articles. My ultimate goal is to make all the things that we sell at the store other than yarn. That is a long way off for now, until I can retire from my job.
Have truck and trailer, will travel. We are going to participate in some of the local fall festivals. We will load up the trailer with alpacas, and the truck with our items for sale and hit the road. We hope to promote a better understanding of alpacas and our country lifestyle. Please come by and see for yourself.
